A classic Ballet: Swan Lake at the Teatro delle Bologna Celebrations Friday and Saturday 13 January 14 January. The Rostov State Ballet Theatre was founded in the autumn of 2000. Five years after the company has received national and international acclaim, with Spain and toured Portugal and USA. The company was founded when Viatcheslav Kushchev, art director of Rostov State Musical Theatre, has invited the renowned dancer and choreographer Oleg Korzenkov to become the first maitre de ballet of the teatro. Later joined Alexander and Elena Ivanov, giving life to the Rostov Ballet. Among the soloists of "Compagnia, there are names such as Nelya Alimova and Andrey Ryabov – winners of numerous international competitions; Oleg Korzenkov, Laura Ormigon and Oscar Torrado – soloists of National Ballet of Cuba; Natalya Somova. In September 2002 the company has established a course in Choreography at the Rostov Regional State School of Arts. Developing local talent in this way, the Rostov Ballet ensures the survival of a company from the very high artistic level. Every year many students who attend the Rostov School appear in some of the major theatre productions.
